Trying to understand what it means to be a man in today’s world is confusing. Often times boys grow up without strong male models in their lives. The education system tends to be heavily tilted towards women in the field. While they may care deeply and do everything they can to support and love boys, there is a reason the book “Men are Mars, Women are from Venus” is one of the bestselling books of all time. We are just wired different, which is wonderful, but can be challenging as guys find themselves struggling to find guidance with their problems. Too often as men, we find ourselves bottling up our problems, thinking we have to handle everything on our own, or we will be considered weak. While I do believe more than ever before men are getting better about opening up, we still find that in different journeys in our life, we lose sight on our goals, our focus on building the best lives we can for ourselves and our loved ones and slide deeper into the abyss of perceived failure.
This first blog I am sure will be sloppy and unpolished, but that’s ok. I am starting the Warrior Within business not with the idea I know everything and have all of life’s problems figured out, because I don’t. I have failed often and sometimes quite publicly. But I have never lost my ability to remain positive and have the strong desire to help people become the best versions of themselves. We tend to get “stuck” in life because we get so far down in our minds, we lose focus, fall apart not only emotionally and spiritually, but also physically. I am strong believer that often we have a pretty good idea of what we need to do to get back on the right track, but we lack an accountability partner to help clarify and simplify everything running through our brains and regain the consistent discipline we need to thrive in the game of life.
As I looked online at life coaching, I see over and over all of these programs to help in relationships, business, and careers, but they almost seemed more geared to the high-end achiever who just needs to tweak some things to launch into stratosphere. There doesn’t seem to be much help for the common guy, from teenager to adult who had massive hopes and dreams but can’t figure out how to even get off the mat to begin the journey we always envisioned we would be on. So, let’s take a journey together, and let’s become the best possible versions of ourselves.
